MOMOS began in 2007, converting a small restaurant storage room (about 140 sq ft) into a take-out coffee bar. From day one, the company was built together by four people: Hyunki Lee (Founder), Jooyeon Jeon (Co-CEO), Jungsoo Park (Co-CEO), and Jueun Jeong (Director). After discovering specialty coffee in 2009, we committed ourselves fully to the field and began introducing it to Korea. Today, we operate four stores exclusively in Busan as a locally rooted roastery brand.
Quality has always guided our decisions.
Since 2011, we have traveled to origin, met producers face to face, and built our sourcing through direct trade, beginning with four Central American countries. Today, we work closely with more than 150 producers across 16 countries. Together, we focus on mutual understanding, long-term relationships, and sustainability. These partnerships, built over time and through many challenges, form the foundation of who we are. For us, coffee is ultimately about people and the trust we grow together.
In 2019, Jooyeon won the World Barista Championship, the most prestigious competition in coffee. The victory marked the result of more than a decade of dedication and became a turning point for MOMOS, establishing us as a brand recognized globally for our craft. As the first and only Korean champion, a female barista, and a winner from outside the capital region, the achievement also helped shape a clearer vision for Busan as a coffee city.
In 2021, Charlie (Kyeongha) Chu, champion of the World Cup Tasters Championship, joined MOMOS. He now oversees quality control across the entire process, from green selection and daily cupping to roast validation and café standards.
Sprudge named MOMOS Coffee a World’s Notable Roaster at the Sprudge Awards, recognizing us as one of the most noteworthy roasteries in the world. The recognition reflects not only the quality of our coffee, but also the integrity of how it is produced, bringing us one step closer to establishing Busan as a true coffee city.

We pursue continuous learning and challenge to create better coffee. Through innovation that stays true to the essence, we continue to grow.

We respect everyone involved in coffee, from producers and makers to those who enjoy each cup, and place ethical relationships at the center of what we do.

Through coffee, we create diverse cultural experiences
and shape a coffee culture that naturally becomes part of everyday life.

By sharing the knowledge and experience we have built,
we expand communities and connections through coffee.

To share the value of specialty coffee with more people,
we create moments that anyone can experience and enjoy.

By continually reflecting on quality and responsible standards, we carry forward the value of specialty coffee through sustainable practices.
